How PR agencies categorise clients…

Do you have a PR agency looking after you/ your company? How much are you paying?Often the unsaid rule in any PR agency is that they categorise clients as A list clients and B list clients. A for those who pays extremely well, and B for those who pays just enough.

So for A, you will find that there are dedicated 3-4 people on the team, getting and organising the daily work neatly. The CEO will give his funny inputs and pressure tactic now and then to the team. The team members will call up journalists everyday pitching for new story angles. You will have everyone in the agency take the name of the client as if it is the name of the Holy Bible itself.

For B, well, ahem, unfortunately it’s the stepson. Just another kitty in the bag that you need to feed milk now and then enough to get the monthly retainer fee coming in. Which one do you belong to? Of course the agencies will also rub this off with a nonsense look.

Solution: Be demanding to the agency.
