Best of India’s blog writings voted by readers

There is a new and interesting site on the web. It’s called India Blogging! (I have just started it :-) on crispynews as an effort to see the best of Indian bloggers on a common platform)

India Blogging! is a collection of India’s blog posts contributed by bloggers and readers. These entries get voted by readers and the ones that get the most number of votes, or the most popular in other words, are the ones you see on top. When a link is submitted, it appears in the recent section. People vote on articles in this section to increase its score. As an article’s score goes up, it moves higher in the headlines section. If the score is high enough, it will appear on the front page.

Anything can be linked. Since the community determines the rankings, they will figure out whether they like it or not. In order to submit anything, you will need to create an account. Illegal material of course, will have to be taken down and are generally flagged by the community fairly quickly.

Every time you vote, the score on the article is bumped up by a number of points. This score indicates how well-liked the article is. The more well-liked the article, the higher on the headlines page it goes. However, as the articles get older, they move lower down on the page. The combination of these forces decides how the articles are ranked in the Headlines section.

For websurfers, this could be a place to submit articles that they like on the blogosphere on India to be read by other readers. For blog owners, this is a place to showcase their blog writings to get ranked by readers.

Tips for bloggers and readers:How to submit?

Option 1: Submit through bookmarks

To add a India Blogging! flare for your feed through Feedburner, check out a post on this by Constantin Basturea on how to do this for a similiar site on PR news. Just remember to change the NewPR flare to http://indiablogging.crispynews.com/crispyflare1.xml while adding to the Feedflare at Feedburner. You can add this flare directly to your blogger template as well.
