Customised Indian PR industry search engine

Google recently launched its custom search engine, and I grapped the opportunity to build a search tool that will find results from all the PR related websites from India. This customised search box is on your right hand side of this blog called India PR Search, below the Flickr picture ———————->

Or one can visit the site separately as well
.

I have added 15 websites that I could think of so far including PRSI, PRCAI, Exchange4media PR hub, Agency Faqs PR resource page, and PRdomain, among others. This blog and some others have been added as well. What I have not yet added are the individual websites of PR agencies, maybe because I became lazy or that my head started to spin looking at all these htmls :-)

However even if I couldn’t do it myself, the good news is that anybody can volunteer to contribute any sites they think is important to this search engine. If you go the homepage of the India PR Search site, you will find a link for volunteers at the left hand side bottom of the page.

Please feel free to add any websites. The only request I have is that it should be related to the Indian PR industry, not global, as otherwise there would be thousands of sites one can add.

Or should we restrict ourselves only to PR related websites. What about media sites, government publicity & information departments, etc? We need some feedback on this too.

Hey Hobbie, this is cool! I think the challenge would be putting in all relevant links. But in-sha-allah, it would be done. :-)

Guys, great that there are some volunteers already for our collaborated search engine. For the volunteers, once you log in you can go to the control panel, click on ‘Sites’ and start adding sites. Pls. do check if the websites are there already. On the left hand side there is a My Profile link through which you can edit your profile, give yourself a name and a picture.

While I thank you for the response and have no problems adding sites myself, I would appreciate if you can become volunteers and add sites yourself, as this will encourage others to do so more. This search engine will be a success only if there is a collaborated effort.

    thanks Freddie….

Guys, just one more thing. If we are adding news reports or specific pages from websites that are not entirely PR related, please do choose the option of – search from this page only – and not- search from entire site – when you are submitting the site.
