- Ads in Google News Turn it into a PR Playground – Last week an eagle-eyed reader alerted SEO blogger Barry Schwartz that one advertiser tried to use Google News sponsored links as a way spread fake news – in this case a false rumor that President Obama was killed. The ad, Schwartz notes, was pulled down. But you can bet there will be more. And clearly some people saw it.
- Internet Marketing with Content & SEO: Interviews with 5 Experts – We’ve debated content vs links as it relates to SEO as well as the general merits of content in online marketing for serveral years on this blog. Most of the advice about content optimization comes from a search engine optimization perspective, or at least, from SEOs. I decided to reach out to a good number of people that work mostly on the content side of internet marketing to get their opinions of the interplay between content and SEO with a strategic perspective.
- The FIVE Ps of Irresistible Social Marketing – Liz Strauss at Successful Blog – Thinking, writing, business ideas … You’re only a stranger once. – Now I’m thinking of traditional marking — the Four Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promotion — and in social media I’d add People.
- BtoB Technology Marketers Missing Social Media Opportunities | Online PR technology trends | Sally Falkow | The Leading Edge – 77 percent of business technology decision-makers engage with social media on the job, yet most B2B marketers are not effectively using social technologies to influence the purchasing decisions of their customers, says Forrester Research.
- Micro Persuasion: Three Ways the Media is Innovating with New Interfaces – Sporting News Today delivers to your inbox either via RSS or email a beautifully designed virtual newspaper – and on weekends too. The content is fully searchable and it is supported by full-page ads similar to what you would see in the print publication. You can also bookmark and share individual pages. The reading experience is terrific.
